We see this question around a lot and thought we'd answer it with no bullsh*t - so how long does it really take to grow a beard?
We say answer it, but this question is like asking how long is a piece of string? There is no logical answer to this question on a macro level - it depends on so many different factors, who you are, your genetics, what length you want to grow your beard, where you're starting from, your hair type, your diet, your skin, your environment, every little thing can play a factor in this!
On average it normally takes 3-6 months to see anything of note from scratch, but this is not a standard average that you should be worried about if yours doesn't. If you really want to grow a beard, you really will have to be patient!!
Even if your friend, your brother or your dog can grow a glorious beard in one month, it really doesn't matter. You are you. We are all different and have different genes and hair types. So don't worry about anyone else, if you want to grow a beard then just be patient and grow it!
And if you've let it grow it for a year, and your beard just hasn't blossomed into a marvelous manly mane yet then just go with what you have, and look for styles that suit what you have been blessed with (even if that means going clean shaven). Not all of us are capable of growing "amazing" beards or even having beards suit us!
